Established in 2003, HAP International is the humanitarian sector's first international self-regulatory body. Members of HAP are committed to meeting the highest standards of accountability and quality management.

n Accountability Partnership International annual general assembly is a time for its members from across the world to convene to highlight the efforts which have been undertaken in the past year to strengthen accountability and take decisions regarding the governance of HAP.
The General Assembly was open to HAP Members and Associate Members, while a half day session was open to observers such as experts, interested members of the humanitarian community and donors. A total of 72 people attended the event.
During the General Assembly, the 2011 Humanitarian Accountability Report and the HAP Secretariat Report were launched.
The 2011 Humanitarian Accountability Report includes a chapter on voices of disaster survivors, a synthesis of HAP member agencies' accountability progress reports, and an overview of humanitarian accountability developments in 2011.
